Run Kadia on your computer
The local launcher serves Kadia’s apps on your computer and opens them in your own browser, so your browser wallet works. It talks to your own Ergo node. It doesn’t start a node or an indexer for you.
You need
Section titled “You need”- Node.js 22 or later (nodejs.org, or your package manager).
- An Ergo node you run. Mainnet answers on port 9053 by default, testnet on 9052. The lending app reads boxes through the node’s index, so turn the node’s extra index on.
- A copy of the Kadia apps, built:
npm run build && npm run bundlein the kadia-web repository. A downloadable package is planned.
Start it
Section titled “Start it”npm run kadia -- --testnet # testnet node at http://127.0.0.1:9052npm run kadia # mainnet node at http://127.0.0.1:9053npm run kadia -- --node http://192.168.1.20:9052 --testnet- Address: it prints one like
http://127.0.0.1:8080/and opens it. It listens on your computer only. - Node: it checks your node once and says which network and block height it found.
- Explorer: it works against a mainnet kadia-explorer indexer only, for now. Leave
--indexeroff on testnet. - Stop it with Ctrl+C.
| System | Notes |
|---|---|
| Linux | The browser opens with xdg-open. Without a desktop, open the printed address yourself. |
| macOS | Install Node with brew install node@24, or from nodejs.org. |
| Windows | Run node packages\serve\bin\kadia.mjs --testnet in PowerShell. If the firewall asks, Node only needs your own computer. |
In the app
Section titled “In the app”- Open Settings (the sliders icon) to see which node and indexer the app uses, and to check them.
- On testnet, use a testnet wallet. See Try the testnet prototype.
